The Sibiu Christmas Market fills Piata Mare, the city's grand central square, with wooden chalets, mulled wine, crafts, and seasonal lights each winter, and is widely regarded as one of Romania's largest and most popular Christmas markets.

Piata Mare, Sibiu's great central square, has served as the city's civic and social heart since the medieval era, framed by the layered facades of Saxon guild houses, baroque townhouses, and the landmark Brukenthal Palace.
