Atmanovskie Kulachki in Atmanov Ugol
A revived Russian folk-sport festival in the small village of Atmanov Ugol, Tambov region, centered on traditional wall-on-wall fist fighting held each August on the village's own patronal church feast day, restored deliberately by two named organizing bodies in 2010 after decades of decline elsewhere in the country.
Wall-on-wall fist fighting, known in Russian as stenka na stenku, is one of the oldest documented Russian folk combat traditions, historically practiced at Maslenitsa and other calendar festivals across villages and towns, with two lines of men squaring off and advancing on each other in an organized, rules-bound brawl rather than a chaotic melee.
