Denis Matsuev Presents International Music Festival in Chelyabinsk
Each spring, pianist Denis Matsuev brings his touring festival, Denis Matsuev Presents, to Chelyabinsk, pairing his own performances with the regional symphony orchestra alongside visiting classical and jazz musicians. Concerts run in Chelyabinsk's Prokofiev Hall and extend to satellite cities including Ozyorsk, Miass, and Troitsk, with masterclasses and sessions for the region's Children's Philharmonic rounding out the week.
Denis Matsuev built his reputation as one of the most prominent concert pianists to emerge from post-Soviet Russia, and rather than simply touring his own recitals, he has spent years curating a series of festivals that carry his name and, more importantly, his taste.
