One of Russia's oldest and largest author-song festivals, held regularly near Samara at the Mastryukovskie Lakes since 1968 and named for a student who drowned saving others on a Siberian hiking trip nearly six decades ago, surviving both an official ban and a later organizational split.

In 1967, Valery Grushin, a student at the Kuibyshev Aviation Institute named after Sergei Korolev, died on a hiking trip along the Uda river in Siberia while trying to save Konstantin Tretyakov, the head of a riverside meteorological station, and his children from drowning.
