Baikal Yordyn Games in Olkhon/Baikal

The Yordyn Games are a Buryat ethnocultural festival held once every four years at Ehe-Yordo, a sacred cone-shaped hill near Lake Baikal's Olkhon district, reviving an intertribal gathering that once drew thousands of pilgrims before it lapsed with the spread of Christianity in Siberia. Revived in 2000 after a centuries-long gap, the games now draw participants from Buryatia, Tuva, Yakutia, Mongolia and China.

Ehe-Yordo, also transliterated as Yordyn Games hill, is a naturally occurring, near-perfectly conical hill roughly 34 to 42 meters high on the right bank of the Anga River, close to Lake Baikal's shore in the Olkhon district of Irkutsk Oblast.
