Opera for All St Petersburg in Saint Petersburg
Opera for All is Saint Petersburg's largest open-air opera series, staging full productions for free each July at some of the city's most recognizable historic sites, from the Peter and Paul Fortress to the palace squares of Gatchina and Tsarskoye Selo. Founded by conductor Fabio Mastrandrea, it has run for roughly fifteen years as one of the city's most established outdoor cultural traditions.
For roughly fifteen years, one of the most reliable fixtures of a Saint Petersburg summer has been the sight of a full orchestra and opera cast performing not inside a gilded theatre but on open ground before a fortress wall or a palace facade.
