Russian Christmas in Shuya in Shuya
Shuya's central square becomes a Christmas market and evening light-show venue for four days each January, styled as a revival of Christmas as Russia's historic winter holiday. Expect a food and craft fair from late morning into the evening, a park light installation called Park of the Christmas Miracle after dark, folk and sacred music concerts, and open museums for individual holiday visitors.
Shuya turns its central square into a running Christmas market each January, staging Russkoye Rozhdestvo, or Russian Christmas, across the winter school holiday period from roughly January 5 to 8.
