Festival of National Musical Instruments of the Peoples of Russia in Stavropol
The All-Russian Festival-Review of National Musical Instruments of the Peoples of Russia is a touring event that has visited Irkutsk, Petrozavodsk, Izhevsk, and Stavropol, showcasing folk instruments and ensembles from across the country's regions. Its Stavropol edition drew performers from twelve regions in ethnic dress, alongside an exhibition of hundreds of traditional instruments, masterclasses, and a closing gala concert.
Russia's regional folk-instrument traditions rarely get to share a single stage, scattered as they are across a country spanning eleven time zones, which is exactly the gap the All-Russian Festival-Review of National Musical Instruments of the Peoples of Russia has set out to close.
