Ulan-Ude Voice of Nomads in Ulan-Ude
Voice of Nomads is an international world-music festival held annually in Buryatia since 2009, organized under Buryatia's Ministry of Culture. Built around the idea of nomadic culture as a symbol of freedom and movement, it pairs Buryat and Mongol traditional musicians with touring world-music acts from across Asia, Europe and the Americas.
Voice of Nomads began in 2009 as the idea of Buryatia's then culture minister Timur Tsybikov, who wanted a festival that could represent the region's Mongol-Buryat musical heritage to a wider audience.
