Galaxy Vladivostok Marathon in Vladivostok
Each autumn the Galaxy Vladivostok Marathon sends thousands of runners across the Golden Bridge and the Russky Bridge, the two cable-stayed spans that define the city's skyline over the Sea of Japan. It is the Russian Far East's largest running event and its only marathon certified by the Association of International Marathons and Runs. Distances range from a 3-kilometer family jog to the full 42.2 kilometers, with the longest routes crossing onto Russky Island.
Vladivostok does not look like the rest of Russia, and the Galaxy Vladivostok Marathon uses that fact shamelessly.
