Old New Rock Festival in Yekaterinburg

Old New Rock is one of Russia's largest rock festivals, running in Yekaterinburg from 2000 until its announced closure in 2019, then revived in January 2026 after a six-year hiatus. The 2026 relaunch marked the 40th anniversary of the Sverdlovsk Rock Club and drew about 2,500 attendees.

Old New Rock began almost by accident on January 13, 2000, as a single concert by the Sverdlovsk band TOP at Yekaterinburg's Youth Theatre, staged to present the group's new record with a guest set from composer Alexander Pantykin's band.
