Saudi Open Golf in Riyadh

The Saudi Open is a professional golf tournament founded in 2015 and held at Dirab Golf and Country Club near Riyadh. Since 2023 it has run as an official Asian Tour event presented by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, pairing Asian Tour regulars with LIV Golf players who cross over to compete in the December field.

Golf arrived relatively late as a major spectator sport in Saudi Arabia, but it has expanded quickly since the country's Public Investment Fund began investing heavily in the game in the early 2020s, first through the Saudi International on the European and Asian tours, then through the creation of LIV Golf itself.
