Saudi Theater Festival in Riyadh
The Saudi Theater Festival is an annual event showcasing Saudi theatrical talent, held in Riyadh and organized in connection with the kingdom's Theater and Performing Arts Commission as part of Saudi Arabia's broader post-2019 expansion of live performance and cultural programming.
Public theater performance had almost no formal presence in Saudi Arabia for decades, constrained by broad restrictions on public entertainment that only began easing significantly after 2016, when Vision 2030 reforms opened space for cinemas, concert venues, and eventually dedicated theatrical infrastructure.
