Belgrade Dance Festival in Belgrade

Belgrade Dance Festival, founded around 2003-2004 by ballet artist Aja Jung under the patronage of the International Dance Council at UNESCO, runs each spring across venues in Belgrade and, in recent years, Novi Sad. It has hosted companies including Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch and dancer Roberto Bolle of La Scala.

Belgrade had no dedicated international dance festival until Serbian ballet artist and choreographer Aja Jung founded one in the early 2000s, opening its first edition in 2004 with a performance by the National Opera Ballet of Greece.
