BEMUS Belgrade Music Festival in Belgrade
BEMUS, short for Belgrade Music, is Serbia's oldest and most prominent classical music festival, founded in 1969 and held each October at Belgrade's Kolarac concert hall and Sava Centar. A European Festivals Association member since 2002, it has hosted orchestras including the Concertgebouw and soloists such as Martha Argerich and Maxim Vengerov.
Kolarac concert hall in central Belgrade has been the home of the Belgrade Philharmonic for generations, and since 1969 it has also been the anchor venue for BEMUS, an acronym built from Beograd and Muzika, Belgrade Music.
