ECOFEST, short for the ECOWAS Music Festival, is a large-scale Freetown music event founded in 2018 by entrepreneur Abubakar Kabaka Turay through his company Kabaka Multimedia Entertainment, held at the National Stadium in the late November to December window and drawing international West African lineups alongside tens of thousands of attendees.

In 2018, Sierra Leonean lawyer and entrepreneur Abubakar Kabaka Turay, through his company Kabaka Multimedia Entertainment, launched an ambitious new music festival built around a specifically regional idea: rather than celebrating Sierra Leonean music alone, ECOFEST, short for ECOWAS Music Festival, set out to bring musicians and fans from across the Economic Community of West African States together on a single stage.
