Bratislava Coronation Days in Bratislava
Bratislava Coronation Days, known in Slovak as Bratislavske korunovacne slavnosti, is a historical reenactment festival running annually since 2003 that recreates the coronation processions and ceremonies once held at St. Martin's Cathedral, where nineteen Hungarian kings and queens were crowned in Bratislava between 1563 and 1830.
For nearly two and a half centuries, Bratislava, then called Pressburg by its German-speaking residents and Pozsony in Hungarian, served as the coronation city of the Kingdom of Hungary.
