Slovakia Cantat in Bratislava
Slovakia Cantat is an international choir and orchestra competition held each April in Bratislava, organized by the Bratislava Music Agency. Ensembles compete across categories including children's, youth, mixed adult, sacred a cappella, folk song, and spiritual or jazz-influenced choral music. Concerts and the juried rounds take place in the Jesuit Church, Klarisky Music Hall, and the Mirror Hall of the Primate's Palace.
Every April, the Jesuit Church on Bratislava's Franciscan Square fills with a sound rarely heard outside conservatories: dozens of choirs, most of whom have never performed together, singing within earshot of one another over the course of a few days.
