Folklore Festival Východná in Východná
Folklórny festival Východná is the largest folklore festival in Slovakia, staged in the village amphitheater of Východná since 1953 on the first weekend of July. Listed on the international CIOFF folklore festival calendar, it showcases Slovak folk dance, music and costume traditions, drawing on the village's own preserved crafts including embroidery, weaving and woodcarving.
In the Liptov region of central Slovakia, beneath the peaks of the Low Tatras, the small village of Východná has hosted, every year since 1953, what has grown into the largest folklore festival in the country.
