Jurjevanje in Bela Krajina in Črnomelj
Jurjevanje in Bela krajina is Slovenia's oldest folklore festival, launched in Črnomelj in 1964 and tracing roots back to a 1930s Festival of National Songs and Dances. The five-day event fills the natural amphitheater of Jurjevanska Draga and venues across town with Bela krajina folk dance, song and international folklore groups.
In the White Carpathian foothills of southeastern Slovenia, the town of Črnomelj hosts a festival whose roots reach back further than its official founding date suggests.
