The story

Folkart Maribor in Maribor

Folkart Maribor is an international CIOFF folklore festival held under the patronage of CIOFF, coordinated with Narodni dom Maribor, and staged alongside the Lent Festival in late June or early July. Described as Slovenia's largest folklore festival and one of the most prominent in Europe, it hosts traditional dance, music, song, and costume performances on a floating stage on the Drava River.

Folkart Maribor grew out of Slovenia's long-standing engagement with the international folklore-festival movement coordinated by CIOFF, the International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Art.
