Tolminator Metal Festival in Tolmin

Tolminator is a heavy metal festival at Tolmin's river confluence that emerged in 2023 as the successor to MetalDays at the same Sotočje site, building on two decades of metal-festival tradition in the town. Focused on death metal and black metal, it caps attendance at 5,000 across two main stages plus a beach stage.

When MetalDays departed Tolmin for Lake Velenje in 2023 and was subsequently discontinued, it left vacant one of the most storied metal-festival sites in Europe: the gravel confluence where the glacial Tolminka meets the emerald Soča beneath the Julian Alps.
