Drakensberg Extravaganza in Drakensberg

The Drakensberg Extravaganza and Heritage Experience is an eleven-day multi-event programme in Bergville, uThukela District, KwaZulu-Natal, running since 2017. Organised by Drakensberg Productions with oKhahlamba Municipality and the provincial government, it blends a marathon, hiking, fishing, a music showcase and community summits into one late-year calendar of events.

In 2017, organisers in the small Drakensberg foothill town of Bergville set out to build something unusual: a festival that would double as an economic development plan for oKhahlamba Municipality.
