Kirkwood Wildsfees in Kirkwood
The Kirkwood Wildsfees is an annual family festival held each June in Kirkwood, a small town in the Sundays River Valley of the Eastern Cape, a region built on citrus farming and close to the Addo Elephant National Park. Branded 'Die Dikste Baljaar' (roughly, the biggest bash), it brings a weekend of family entertainment and food to the valley under sponsorship from SPAR.
Kirkwood is a small town in the Sundays River Valley of South Africa's Eastern Cape province, a region whose economy has long been built around citrus farming, oranges, lemons and other citrus varieties grown along the fertile valley floor, and which sits close to the Addo Elephant National Park, one of South Africa's major wildlife reserves.
