Started in 2000 as a free beach concert, Busan International Rock Festival is Korea's longest-running rock festival. It relocated to Samnak Ecological Park and adopted paid ticketing around 2019, then expanded to three days by 2024 amid record attendance, growing into one of the country's two biggest rock festivals alongside Incheon's Pentaport.

Busan International Rock Festival started in 2000 as a small, free event on Gwangalli or Dadaepo Beach, making it Korea's first and longest-running international rock festival.
