Siheung Gaetgol Festival in Siheung
The Siheung Gaetgol Festival celebrates Korea's only inland tidal flat with salt-making experiences, reed field walks, and an eco-orienteering scavenger game through Siheung Gaetgol Ecological Park. Now past its twentieth edition, the three-day autumn event blends wetland conservation education with family programming, performances, and an art market built around the site's salt pans and mudflats.
Siheung Gaetgol Ecological Park sits on what is often described as Korea's only inland tidal flat, a stretch of wetland where gaetgol, the water channels that thread through tidal flats at low tide, support halophytes and dozens of bird species despite the site's distance from the open coast.
