Hikkaduwa Beach Festival in Hikkaduwa
Hikkaduwa Beach Festival, known as Hikka Fest, takes over the southern coast's popular surf town for roughly five days each July or August, mixing international DJs and dancers with family-friendly sandcastle competitions and a beachside movie night. Drawing thousands of local and international visitors, the festival gives a major seasonal boost to Hikkaduwa's hotels, guesthouses and beach bars.
DJs, sandcastle builders and late-night moviegoers share the same stretch of sand each year when Hikkaduwa Beach Festival, widely known simply as Hikka Fest, takes over one of Sri Lanka's best-known surf and beach towns on the southern coast.
