VisFestivalen Vastervik in Vastervik
Visfestivalen i Vastervik has run every year since 1966 inside the ruins of Stegeholm castle on Slottsholmen island in Vastervik, making it, by its own reckoning, the world's oldest continuously running festival held without a single broken year of its sung-poetry, troubadour-style vissang tradition of live performance.
On the small island of Slottsholmen, inside the ruins of the medieval Stegeholm castle, Vastervik has staged a song festival every single year since 1966, an unbroken run that the festival itself points to as evidence it is the world's oldest continuously running festival held in an unbroken sequence.
