JazzAscona in Ascona
JazzAscona fills the lakeside promenade of Ascona with free open-air stages each summer, focused on New Orleans and traditional jazz rather than contemporary styles. Founded in 1985, it has grown into one of Europe's larger events of its kind, with brass bands parading through the old town alongside the main promenade stages. Restaurants and bars extend onto the waterfront for the week, giving the festival a relaxed, holiday atmosphere along Lake Maggiore.
