Caprices Festival in Crans-Montana
Caprices Festival grew from a 2004 effort by Crans-Montana local Maxime Leonard to give his ski resort a reason to matter beyond winter sports. It has narrowed from an eclectic early lineup into a house and techno festival built around altitude, anchored by the glass-walled Modernity Stage at roughly 2,200 meters on the ski slopes, where daytime skiing gives way to evening electronic sets with alpine views.
Caprices Festival began in 2004 when Crans-Montana local Maxime Leonard and a small group of friends decided their hometown ski resort, then losing ground to flashier Alpine destinations, needed a reason to matter beyond winter sports, so they built a music festival around it instead.
