Openair Frauenfeld is Switzerland's largest hip-hop and urban music festival, drawing around 150,000 people to the Grosse Allmend common land outside the Thurgau town of Frauenfeld over three July days. Started in 1985 as the folk-rock event Out in the Green, the festival's booking has shifted almost entirely to rap, R&B and urban acts, pairing major international headliners with Swiss-German hip-hop artists on a flat, open site built for large-scale crowds.
