Greenfield Festival in Interlaken

Greenfield Festival fills Interlaken Airport with Switzerland's biggest rock and metal lineup each June, framed by views of the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau whenever skies clear. Founded in 2005 by promoters Raphael Schiltknecht and Stefan Matthey, it has grown into the country's largest rock festival, drawing more than 70,000 visitors and headliners such as Rammstein, Foo Fighters and Red Hot Chili Peppers to two stages on the open airfield grounds.

Greenfield Festival turned a working airfield into Switzerland's biggest rock and metal gathering, and the runway setting still shapes the visit: stages sit on the flat grounds of Interlaken Airport, with the snow-capped trio of the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau visible over the tents whenever the weather cooperates.
