Jungfrau Marathon in Interlaken/Kleine Scheidegg
The Jungfrau Marathon climbs roughly 1,800 meters over 42.195 kilometers from Interlaken to Kleine Scheidegg at the foot of the Eiger's north face, founded in 1993 and held each September. Considered one of the world's toughest certified marathons, its steep alpine trails replace flat road running in the second half, finishing at 2,061 meters with the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau as backdrop.
