Lucerne's marathon runs directly past the Chapel Bridge, the Lion Monument, and the KKL concert hall on a lakefront and old-town course held each October. The event pairs a full marathon with a half marathon, a 10km, and a four-person relay favored by local company and school teams, giving the city a team-sport energy alongside its serious distance runners.
Lucerne's city marathon threads along the shore of Lake Lucerne and the Reuss river, passing directly beneath the wooden Chapel Bridge and its medieval water tower before looping past the Lion Monument and the glass-and-steel KKL concert hall on its way back to the finish.
