Zermatt Unplugged in Zermatt
Zermatt Unplugged strips festival production down to acoustic sets, staged every April in the car-free village of Zermatt at the foot of the Matterhorn. Running since 2008, the festival spreads concerts across hotel bars, a snow igloo village, a mountain chapel and an open-air main stage, timed to the tail end of ski season so a day on the slopes can end with a small-room acoustic show under the peak.
Zermatt Unplugged takes the festival format and strips away the usual stack of amplifiers and stage lighting rigs, asking touring artists to perform acoustic sets in a mountain village still deep in its ski season.
