Taiwan East Coast Land Arts Festival and Moonlight Sea Concert in East Coast
The Taiwan East Coast Land Arts Festival places large-scale outdoor art installations along the Hualien-Taitung coastline, organized by the East Coast National Scenic Area Administration since the mid-2010s. Its companion Moonlight Sea Concert brings indigenous and folk musicians to perform on a coastal stage after dark, together forming a season-long celebration of the region's Austronesian and landscape identity.
Along the coastal highway linking Hualien and Taitung, where the Central Mountain Range drops abruptly into the Pacific and Amis indigenous villages dot the shoreline, the East Coast National Scenic Area Administration launched an unusual kind of exhibition in the mid-2010s: an art festival with no single building or gallery, its works instead placed directly into the landscape at multiple points along the coast.
