Sada Festival in Dushanbe/Nationwide

Sada Festival is Tajikistan's midwinter fire festival, observed in late January or early February in Dushanbe and towns nationwide, roughly forty days after Yalda and fifty days before Navruz. Rooted in pre-Islamic Zoroastrian tradition, it centers on communal bonfires meant to push back winter's cold and darkness, paired with shared meals, storytelling by elders, and honey-and-nut sweets that mark spring's approach.
