Black to Zanzibar Festival in Zanzibar

Black2Zanzibar is an inaugural three-day Juneteenth festival held June 18-20, 2026, in Zanzibar, Tanzania, with an optional extension to an eight-day cultural trip through June 26. Created by Urban Flight Collective founder Chanice Williams alongside Lisa Shakespeare and Dominic Adams, it brings together Black diaspora travelers for Juneteenth celebration, cultural exchange and reflection on Zanzibar's history in the East African slave trade.

On the white sand and spice-scented air of Zanzibar, a new kind of gathering launched in 2026: Black2Zanzibar, a three-day Juneteenth festival built specifically for the Black diaspora.
