The story

Carthage Musical Days in Tunis

Carthage Musical Days, known as the Journees Musicales de Carthage or JMC, is a Tunis-based music showcase created in 2010 to spotlight emerging Tunisian, African, and Middle Eastern talent. Its tenth edition ran January 18-24, 2025, animating the city with concerts and street performances, with an eleventh edition planned for October 2026.

When the Journees Musicales de Carthage launched in 2010, Tunisian musicians already had access to established performance stages, but relatively few platforms built specifically to identify and export new talent before it reached that level.

What is special

The part that makes it specific.

01

The place changes

JMC positions itself less as a headliner festival and more as a discovery platform and export launchpad: its core mission is finding new musical talent, primarily Tunisian but also drawn from across Africa and the Middle East, and connecting those artists with international industry professionals who can help them reach markets abroad

02

The mystery stays covered

The format reflects that mission directly, combining six main concerts with more than fifteen showcase sets built around emerging acts, plus street performances staged along Habib Bourguiba Avenue that pull the festival out of concert halls and into Tunis's most symbolic public boulevard

03

The city starts moving

Few Tunisian music events combine an artist-development mandate with this kind of public, street-level presence in the capital
