Dedegol Mountaineering and Climbing Festival in Yenişarbademli/Aksu
The Dedegol Mountaineering and Climbing Festival is held in Yenisarbademli district, Isparta province, centered on Dedegol Mountain, a prominent Taurus range peak reaching nearly three thousand meters, known for karst glacial lakes and popular among Turkish mountaineering and trekking clubs.
Dedegol Dagi rises along the western reaches of the Taurus mountain chain near the border between Isparta and Konya provinces, reaching close to 2,992 meters at its summit and standing out within Turkey's mountaineering community for a feature relatively unusual at this elevation in the country: a set of glacial cirque and karst lakes tucked into its upper slopes, formed by a combination of past glaciation and the limestone karst geology typical of the western Taurus range.
