Source of the Nile Marathon in Jinja

The Source of the Nile Marathon is an annual road race in Jinja, launched from Hared Gym as one of the earliest additions to the Uganda Athletics Federation's official race calendar. Held along Jinja's main streets under the slogan Pound the Miles and Save Lives, it raises funds for Jinja Hospital's maternity ward and has drawn hundreds of local and international runners, including elite East African athletes.

The Source of the Nile Marathon was launched in Jinja from Hared Gym as one of the first additions to the Uganda Athletics Federation's official race calendar, described at its launch by UAF vice-president Okot Omony as a historical moment for Ugandan athletics.
