Kampala International Theatre Festival in Kampala
The Kampala International Theatre Festival is Uganda's premier theatre event, launched in November 2014 by the Bayimba Cultural Foundation together with the Sundance Institute Theatre Program. Held annually in Kampala, typically in late November, it is now curated by the Tebere Arts Foundation and includes performances, panels, and workshops.
The Kampala International Theatre Festival traces its origins to November 2014, when Uganda's Bayimba Cultural Foundation partnered with the Sundance Institute Theatre Program, the theatre-development arm of the American organization best known internationally for the Sundance Film Festival, to launch a dedicated theatre event for Kampala.
