Kraina Mriy Festival in Kyiv
Kraina Mriy (Land of Dreams) is an international ethnic-music festival founded in 2004 by musician Oleh Skrypka, first held on Kyiv's Spivoche Pole. It runs in two seasonal formats: a summer edition timed to the Ivana Kupala holiday and a winter edition over Orthodox Christmas, January 6-8.
In 2004, the musician Oleh Skrypka, frontman of the influential Ukrainian rock band Vopli Vidoplyasova, took one of his band's own songs, Kraina Mriy, Land of Dreams, and turned it into the name of a festival.
