Golden Lion Theatre Festival in Lviv

Zolotyi Lev (Golden Lion) is Lviv's leading international theatre festival, founded in 1989 by Yaroslav Fedoryshyn and formally named in 1992 under the motto Classics Through the Eyes of Experiment. Based at the Voskresinnya theatre, it opens and closes with a costumed carnival procession through central Lviv.

The Golden Lion International Theatre Festival, known in Ukrainian as Zolotyi Lev, is described as Lviv's and Ukraine's central theatrical event, staged under the motto Classics Through the Eyes of Experiment across ten days.
