Al Ain Date Festival in Al Ain
The Al Ain Date Festival is a young flagship event held each January at Al Hili Oasis, launched in 2025 by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority under the patronage of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The festival celebrates Emirati date-growing heritage through variety-specific competitions, auctions, and traditional markets, and its inaugural edition reportedly generated more than one million dirhams in sales.
Date palms have shaped life in the Al Ain oasis for thousands of years, providing food, shade, and building material to communities that grew up around the region's ancient falaj irrigation channels.
