Sharjah Theatre Days in Sharjah
Sharjah Theatre Days, now well into its fourth decade, runs each March, staging fourteen theatrical productions from companies across every UAE emirate and the wider Arab world in both a main competition and a parallel programme, alongside an academic symposium on theatre practice, under the direct patronage of the Sharjah Ruler.
Fourteen theatrical productions from troupes spanning the UAE's individual emirates and the wider Arab world compete and perform across a single week, with plays drawn from playwrights as varied as August Strindberg and Turkish satirist Aziz Nesin sitting alongside original Emirati works by companies representing Umm Al Quwain, Dibba, Fujairah and Abu Dhabi.
