Belfast City Marathon in Belfast
An early-May city marathon in Belfast, running since 1982 and now paired with a team relay, an eight-mile walk and a fun run that together make it Northern Ireland's largest mass-participation sporting event. The route crosses all four quarters of the city before finishing at Ormeau Park.
Belfast City Marathon began in 1982 as a marathon-only event with just over 3,000 runners, at a time when city marathons were still a novelty across the United Kingdom.
