The story

Royal Welsh Show in Llanelwedd

Wales's largest agricultural show, held each July at its permanent showground in Llanelwedd near Builth Wells since 1963. Livestock championships, show jumping, forestry demonstrations and a large Welsh food and drink hall draw farmers, breed societies and rural trades from across Britain and Ireland each summer.

The Royal Welsh Show grew out of the Welsh National Agricultural Society, formed in February 1904, which staged its first show that same year on the Vicarage Field at Aberystwyth.
