Peachtree Road Race in Atlanta
The Peachtree Road Race has run every July 4th since 1970, when 150 runners started at an old Sears parking lot and 110 finished, a group still honored today as the Original 110. Organized by the Atlanta Track Club, it is now the world's largest 10K, capped at 60,000 participants selected by lottery.
Its size and civic tradition make it one of Georgia's strongest sports rows.
