Brainerd NHRA Nationals in Brainerd
The Brainerd NHRA Nationals, currently sponsored as the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals, is a professional drag racing event held each August at Brainerd International Raceway northwest of Brainerd, Minnesota. Top Fuel dragsters, Funny Cars, and Pro Stock cars compete on the track's quarter-mile strip, part of the NHRA's national touring championship series. The 2026 edition is scheduled as the penultimate race of the regular season.
Brainerd International Raceway traces its origins to July 1968, when road racers George Montgomery and Bud Stahel cleared a wooded site on the south side of North Long Lake, northwest of Brainerd, Minnesota, and opened a track they named Donnybrooke Speedway.
